A Take Profit (T/P) order is a trading instruction that automatically closes an open position when the market reaches a specified price level.
By setting a Take Profit level, traders can define their target exit price in advance and manage their positions without needing to monitor the market continuously.
How Does Take Profit Work?
When the market price reaches the Take Profit level set by the trader, the position will be automatically closed at the available market price.
Example:
If you open a Buy position at 231.00 and set a Take Profit level at 241.00, your position will be automatically closed when the market reaches the specified price level.
Take Profit Settings
- For Buy Orders:
The Take Profit level should be set above the current market price. - For Sell Orders:
The Take Profit level should be set below the current market price.
Important Notes
- Take Profit does not guarantee that a position will close at the exact requested price, as execution may be affected by market conditions, liquidity, and price movements.
- Traders should consider market conditions and their trading strategy when setting Take Profit levels.
